One hundred and fifty eight female soldiers on Monday completed the basic recruitment training of Nepal Army at the Maithali army training centre in Trishuli.Maj Gen Victor JB Rana and other high-level dignitaries observed the parade of the new recruits. Addressing the programme, Rana urged the army personnel to serve the interests of the people and the country by maintaining honesty and integrity.Women from Rai, Limbu, Gurung, Magar, Tamang, Newar, Brahmin, Chhetri, Dalit and Chaudhary communities were among those who passed the training. According to the NA, induction of women will contribute to making the national army more inclusive.Meanwhile, a two-day Military Science and Technology Competition organised by the NA concluded on Monday. Army Chief Gaurav SJB Rana, the chief guest, distributed prizes to those who secured first, second and third positions.The programme was organised to encourage institutions and people who are active in the field of science and technology.
